Charles David McClain, 69, of Cleveland died on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at his home in Cleveland.
Visitation was Tuesday, October 1, 2013, from noon- 2 p.m. at Cleveland Funeral Home.
Funeral services followed at 2 p.m. in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the New Cleveland Cemetery. Reverend Robert Haney officiated the service.
David was born on January 17, 1944, to Husie and Claudie Lee (Hazzard) McClain in Bolivar County. He married Anna Frances Salley on August 25 1965. David worked at Delta Well Inc. until opening McClain's Drilling in 1985. He retired in 2005.
Mr. McClain loved to travel and spend time with his family. He always focused on being present in their activities and helping raise his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and three brothers Junior, Robert and Billy McClain.
He is survived by son, Charles "Rooster" (Wendy) McClain of Cleveland; daughter, Bobbie McClain of Olive Branch; daughter, Billie Jean (Greg) Weaver of Cleveland; five grandchildren, Charles "Will" McClain of Cleveland, Katherine Warren of Olive Branch, Makaela Warren of Olive Branch, David Weaver of Cleveland and Joseph Weaver of Cleveland; great- grandchild, Ryan Teer of Olive Branch; two brothers, Kenneth McClain of Ocean Springs and Jimmy McClain of New Iberia, La.l; and special companion, Charlotte Gilbert of Cleveland,
Pallbearers were David Weaver, Will McClain, Jeremy Teer, Greg Weaver, Chuck Partridge and Kenny Beevers.
