It was not suppose to end this way for the Bayou Academy Colts, especially hosting the Glenbrook High School Apaches at home, but it indeed did end.

The Colts fell to the Apaches 8-3 Friday at Colt Field in the second game of the best of three game series in the second round of the State AA Baseball playoffs Friday afternoon.

The loss ends the season for Bayou who finishes with a 20-9 mark.

The Apaches beat Bayou 4-3 in game one in Minden, La.

Glenbrook came right out the game with a 2-0 lead, but the Colts tied the ball game in the bottom frame of the first off an RBI single from Parker Hudson and the Colts picked up and RBI from a walk for a 2-2 ball game.

With two outs in the top of the second the Apaches got going and added two runs when Dakota Shinnall ripped an RBI single that plated two for a 4-2 lead. Later in the inning Connor Copeland hit a hard single that scored one run and a throwing error from the Colts allowed another runner to score for a 6-2 game.

In the bottom of the third the Colts made something happen when Weber Herbison singled and Tyler Kitchings followed with a base hit. After Alex Mangialardi grounded out for the second out, the Colts managed to add a run off a bases loaded walk for a 6-3 ball game.

Glenbrook added a run off a groundout RBI in the top of the fourth for a 7-3 game and in the top of the sixth an RBI single from Spencer White gave the Apaches a 8-3 lead and they would hold on to that lead for the win.

Logan Clark picked up the win on the hill for the Apaches and Kitchings suffered the loss.
