In a few months, Bolivar County voters will once again make their way to the polls to cast their vote in a very important election of the year.

This General Election is somewhat different than any other election that has taken place in the past.

This election will be comprised of all newly redistricted school board seats with the exception of Cleveland School District.

Candidate qualifying began Aug. 7 and will close Sept. 6.

The Election Commission has been working diligently to prepare for this complex election. The Election Commission ensures that the voter rolls are accurate and that the county’s sub-district races and candidates as well are properly placed on the ballot.

A few words cannot describe how much work goes into preparing for an election, especially an election as complex as this election will be in November.

There are a few issues we want voters to be reminded of prior to going to the polls on Election Day.

If you have moved or relocated within Bolivar County recently, please ensure your voter record has been updated. To find out your new school district, you may contact the Circuit Clerk’s Office or to find out where you should vote, visit our website at

Most voters may have already received notice from the Election Commission of their new school district. Extra efforts have been made in order for all voters to receive voting information so that this election will go smoothly.
