Edward Bruce Gresham, 64, of Merigold died on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at his home.

Visitation was held Monday, August 8, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland.

Funeral Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Mid-South Baptist Church in Cleveland. Burial followed in the Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville. Pastor Dan Fortner officiated.

Bruce was born on April 15, 1949, to Henry and Alice (Roberts) Gresham in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He attended Murphy High School and had obtained a Master’s Degree from the Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, La. He married Evelyn Paul on May 2, 1970, in Foley, Ala.

Bruce was a former Cleveland Police Officer and a retired vehicle inspector from the Mississippi Department of Transportation. He was the Pastor at Mid-South Baptist Church for over 30 years. He served his church in every capacity, loving each member and seeing to their needs. He was a huge BAMA football fan and also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Evelyn Paul Gresham of Merigold; two sons, Daniel Edward (Angie) Gresham of Cleveland and David Paul (Teague) Gresham of Richmond, Va.; one grandson, Nathan Gresham of Cleveland; and one granddaughter, Delaney Heinz of Richmond, Va.

Pallbearers were Junior Cobb, Melvin Steadman, James Dill, Ricky Moody, Caleb Gilbert, Stephan Gilbert and Ricky Stone.

Honorary pallbearers were Earl McCown, Lanny Mosley and his officer friends from MDOT.
