Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Smith Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Jack DeMoney. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013, at Smith Funeral Home.
G.W. was born on May 18, 1933, in Oxford to William and Dollie Winters.
He has been a resident of Greenville since 1951, where he owned and operated the Monkey Store, Malvina Store and The Greenville Mini Mall.
He also worked as a security guard at Greenville Mills.
He attended Gamari Road Baptist Church.
He enjoyed spending time with his friends at Sherman’s Sport Parlor.
He also enjoyed going to the casino, going out to eat with his family and he loved to watch football games on television.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dollie Winters; his wife, Delorese “T.” Winters; three brothers, Houston Hill, J.D. Winters and W.T. “T Bone” Winters.
He is survived by two sons, Ronnie (Lisa) Winters and Tyrone (Joanna) Winters, all of Greenville; three daughters, Lynn (Wayne) Vick of Cleveland, Sherry (Thomas) Brown of Greenville and Rosie (Jack) DeMoney of Madison; three stepdaughters, Jennifer Stuart of Lake Village, Ark., Cynthia Trussell of Madison and Saundra Lane of Greenville; three brothers, Billy (Barbara) Winters of Greenville, William P. (Mary Ann) Winters of Greenville and Milton Winters of Germany; 11 grandchildren, Kim Runnels, Tommy Whatley, Jeff Whatley, Mandy Graham, Kevin Ware, Ron Winters, Jason Winters, Kristen Dell, Josh DeMoney, Heather Winters and Joseph Winters; and 14 great-grandchildren.
