Bolivar County Deputy Coroner Murry Roark said that James R. Kline Jr., 53, of Benoit was pronounced dead at the scene about one mile south of the Miss. Highway 446 intersection.
Roark added that all indications show that Kline was heading north when the accident occurred.
"The vehicle did roll over and it was dark but there didn't appear to be that much damage," said Roark. "The initial thought on cause of death is from a heart attack."
According to the Bolivar County Sheriff Department's 911-log, a distress call came in by an unknown female at 5:26 p.m.
Battalion One of the Bolivar County Volunteer Fire Department and Deputy Dave Dorsey were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival the county coroner's office was notified.
According to initial reports, Kline's vehicle veered onto the gravel shoulder.
In an attempt to regain control of the vehicle he overcompensated and the vehicle turned sideways before flipping.
One witness at the scene informed officers that Kline might have been texting at the time of the accident.
"During the initial inspection of the body I noticed that there was not a scratch on him," said Roark. "Once I got to the torso I noticed that he was purple from the chest up. That’s a given sign that a heart attack occurred."
Roark said that no autopsy will take place and that the body has been released to Ray Funeral Home, which is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
The primary cause of death was listed as an automobile accident due to a heart attack.
