The Junior Auxiliary of Cleveland recently held a reception for those youth who are members of the 2014 Junior Auxiliary Children’s Benefit Ball Court.

The court will be presented at the annual event at 7:45 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Bolivar County Expo Center.

The silent auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the live auction at 8:30 p.m., followed by the DMP Band providing entertaining.

Fifth through eighth grade daughters and granddaughters of active and associate/life Junior Auxiliary members are invited to join Crown Club and participate in Junior Auxiliary’s projects.

Through the activities, these young ladies’ interests are peaked in the social, economic, educational, civic, and cultural conditions around them. JA members also demonstrate to these young girls the importance and joy of caring for others.

During their membership in Crown Club, the members are traditionally presented their sixth grade year as a part of the Children’s Benefit Ball Court.

This year’s Crown Club members being presented are:

Laila Victoria Byas — Laila is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Gerard Byas II. She attends Presbyterian Day School and is a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. Laila’s mother Denise is a provisional member of Junior Auxiliary.

Caiden Carter Craddock — Caiden is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Culver Craddock. She attends Presbyterian Day School and is a member of Calvary Episcopal Church. Caiden’s late grandmother Charlene Houston Craddock is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Sarah Frances Downs — Sarah Frances is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Downs. She attends Indianola Academy and is a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland. Sarah Frances’ mother Kay is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Julia Clark Kimbrell — Julia Clark is the daughter of Mr. Douglas Clark Kimbrell Jr. and Ms. Neal Elliott Kimbrell. She attends Margaret Green Junior High School and is a member of Our Ladies of Victories Catholic Church. Julia Clark’s mother Neal and grandmother Jane Neal Elliott are both life members of Junior Auxiliary.

Mary Neal Kimbrell — Mary Neal is the daughter of Mr. Douglas Clark Kimbrell Jr. and Ms. Neal Elliott Kimbrell. She attends Margaret Green Junior High School and is a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. Mary Neal’s mother Neal and grandmother Jane Neal Elliott are both life members of Junior Auxiliary.

McKenzie Courtland McGarrh — McKenzie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie Turner McGarrh. She attends Presbyterian Day School and attends First Presbyterian Church. McKenzie’s grandmother Nan Neblett McGarrh, who was Queen of the Ball in 1958, is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Sara Elizabeth Mullins — Sara Beth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Richard Mullins Jr. She attends Bayou Academy and is a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland. Sara Beth’s grandmother Elizabeth Estes Mullins is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Emma Grace Short — Emma Grace is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Ryan Short. She attends Bayou Academy and is a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. Emma Grace’s mother Heather is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Ninth and 12th grade daughters, sons, granddaughters and grandsons are presented as part of the Junior Auxiliary Children’s Benefit Ball Court.

Junior Auxiliary honors the hard work and dedication of the women who have served JA through the years and who are currently serving Junior Auxiliary today by the presentation of their children.

Ninth grade court members

Cordelia Thomas Capps — Cordelia is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilson Capps III. She attends Cleveland High School and is a member of Calvary Episcopal Church. Cordelia’s grandmother Allen Hobbs Capps is a life member of Junior Auxiliary. Her grandfather Charles W. Capps Jr. was King of the Ball in 1992.

Ashlyn Michelle Cummins — Ashlyn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gladwin Cummins Jr. She attends Bayou Academy and is a member of Morrison Chapel Baptist Church. Ashlyn’s mother Michelle is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Laura Lee Grittman — Laura Lee is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Allan Grittman. She attends Bayou Academy and is a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Laura Lee’s mother Cindy is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Mary Agnes Mestayer — Mary Agnes is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Mestayer of Ocean Springs. She attends St. Patrick High School and is a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Mary Agnes’ grandmother Marlene Caston is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Hallee Elizabeth Pinkerton — Hallee is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Boyd Pinkerton. She attends Cleveland High School and is a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland. Hallee’s mother Lisa is an associate member of Junior Auxiliary.

Anna Sledge Tucker — Anna Sledge is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dale Tucker. She attends Madison Ridgeland Academy and is a member of Madison United Methodist Church. Anna Sledge’s grandmother Joyce Simpson Sledge is a life member of Junior Auxiliary. Her great-grandfather Homer Lester Sledge Sr. was King of the Ball in 1980. Her grandfather Homer Lester Sledge Jr. was King of the Ball in 1995.

Emileigh Ballard Williamson — Emileigh is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Williamson. She attends Cleveland High School and is a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. Emileigh’s mother Jackie is a provisional member of Junior Auxiliary.

Bailey Wilkinson McGarrh — Bailey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie Turner McGarrh. He attends Cleveland High School and attends First Presbyterian Church. Bailey’s grandmother Nan Neblett McGarrh, who was Queen of the Ball in 1958, is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

David Mitchell Norquist — Mitchell is the son of Mr. David Norquist and Ms. Paige Elliott Norquist. He attends Cleveland High School and is a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. Mitchell’s mother Paige and his grandmothers Gloria Norquist and Jane Elliott are both life members of Junior Auxiliary.

Louis Southworth Steen III — Louis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Southworth Steen II. He attends Northpoint Christian School and is a member of Getwell Road United Methodist Church. Louis’ grandmother Ann Steen, who was Queen of the Ball in 1999, is a life member of Junior Auxiliary. His grandfather James Steen was King of the Ball in 2000.

William Rex Baugh — Will is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Bradley Rex Baugh. He attends Cleveland High School and is a member of Bolivar Church of Christ.

Will’s mother Dana is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Twelfth grade court members

Nicolas Chantz Arbuckle — Chantz is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Arbuckle Jr. He attends Bayou Academy where he is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Community Service Club. Chantz is a member of the school’s football, basketball, baseball and track team. He is a member of the Stag Club and attended Boys State. He is a member of Morrison Chapel Baptist Church. Chantz’s mother Michelle is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Molly Christina Bassie — Molly is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Bassie. She attends Bayou Academy where she is Student Body President and a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Molly is a member of the soccer and tennis teams, cheerleading squad and was named this year’s Homecoming Queen at Bayou Academy. She was chosen to the All-Conference soccer team and as a beauty in Bayou’s Beauty Review in 2012-2013. She is a member of Carla Parker Senior Dance Troupe. She was also a member of Crown Club. Molly was named to the Headmaster’s List and is involved in the Cleveland Cotillion Club. She is also a Community Service Coordinator. She is a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Molly’s grandmother Jackie Pennington is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Elizabeth Ann Baugh — Beth is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Bradley Rex Baugh. She attends Cleveland High School where she is a member of the swim team, Student Council, and Youth Advisory Council. Beth is an Honor Roll student who is also a member of the National Honor Society and participates in Cleveland High School’s Drama Club and Interact Club. She is president of the Cleveland Cotillion Club. Beth was also a member of Crown Club. She is a member of Bolivar Church of Christ and involved with the church’s youth group. Beth’s mother Dana is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Carley Fay Brock — Carley is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Franklin Brock Jr. She attends Bayou Academy where she is a member of the school’s basketball team and a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Community Service Club. Carley is a member of the Cleveland Cotillion Club and the Delta Debutant Club of Greenville. She was also a member of Crown Club. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland and involved with the church’s youth group. Carley’s mother Becky is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Anna Grace Cummins — Anna Grace is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gladwin Cummins Jr. She attends Bayou Academy where she participates in the school’s Community Service Club, Annual Staff, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Anna Grace is a member of the school’s basketball and track teams. She is a member of Bayou Academy’s cheerleading squad and was named as a Homecoming Senior Maid. Anna Grace is an Honor Roll student, ABC Delegate and a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. She was a member of Crown Club. She is involved in the Cleveland Cotillion Club and a member of Carla Parker Senior Dance Troupe. Anna Grace was a participant in the Dr. Donald Zacharias Leadership Conference at Mississippi State University. Michelle is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Reed Holder Downs — Reed is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Downs. He attends Indianola Academy where he is a member of the National Honor Society and recipient of the Ray Whalen, Jr. Citizenship Award and the Courteous Colonel Award. Reed is a member of the IA football and tennis teams. He was named Mr. Indianola Academy and Most Handsome. Reed is an Eagle Scout and is a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland. Reed’s mother Kay is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Lloyd Parker Hudson Parker is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Hudson. He attends Bayou Academy where he is president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and member of the school’s basketball and baseball teams. He is also a member of the Community Service Club and attended Boys State and APEX Leadership Summit. Parker is president of the Stag Club and is a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland. Parker’s mother Missey is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Mary Clay Kline — Mary Clay is the daughter of Mrs. Mary Disharoon Kline and the late Mr. James Robertson Kline. She attends Cleveland High School where she is on the Superintendent’s List and member of the National Honor Society. Mary Clay is captain of the Cleveland High School swim team, co-president of the Drama Club and member of the Delta Center Stage Community Theater. She is a Rotary Youth Leadership Ambassador and Mississippi Governor’s School Scholar. Mary Clay was also a member of Crown Club. She is a member of Calvary Episcopal Church and involved with the Covenant Presbyterian youth group. Mary Clay’s mother Mary is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Anna Olivia Ouzts — Olivia is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brad Ouzts. She attends Bayou Academy where she is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Community Service Club, and the National Chemistry Organization. Olivia was named Most Beautiful at Bayou Academy in 2013. She is a member of the soccer team and the cheerleading squad. She is a member of Carla Parker Senior Dance Troupe. Olivia is involved with the Cleveland Cotillion Club and was a member of Crown Club. She is a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church where she is a Catholic Youth Organization leader. Olivia’s mother Valerie is a life member of Junior Auxiliary.

Caroline Grace Salley — Caroline is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Morris Salley II. She attends Bayou Academy where she is a member of the National Honor Society, vice-president of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, executive secretary of the Student Council, and coordinator of the school’s Community Service Club. Caroline is a member of Bayou Academy’s basketball team, cheerleading squad, and Annual Staff. She was named as a Homecoming Senior Maid and is involved with the Cleveland Cotillion Club. She was a participant in the Dr. Donald Zacharias Leadership Conference at Mississippi State University. Caroline is a member of Carla Parker Senior Dance Troupe. She is a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Youth Organization where she serves as a core leader. Caroline’s mother Melody is a life member of Junior Auxiliary. Her grandfather David Work was King of the Ball in 2011.

Anna Douglas Steen — Anna Douglas is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Southworth Steen II. She attends Desoto Central High School where she is an honor graduate with Special Distinction and a member of Fellowship of Christian Students. Anna Douglas is a member of the school’s band and serves as a volunteer for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Down Syndrome Association of MidSouth. She is a member of Getwell United Methodist Church where she is a youth mentor and a Sunday School teacher. Anna Douglas’ grandmother Ann Steen, who was Queen of the Ball in 1999, is a life member of Junior Auxiliary. Her grandfather James Steen was King of the Ball in 2000.

Shelby Love Tuttle — Shelby is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Michael Tuttle. She attends Cleveland High School where she is a member of the cheerleading squad and is girls’ representative for the Student Council. Shelby is involved with the Cleveland Cotillion Club and a member of Carla Parker Senior Dance Troupe. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church and involved with the church’s youth group. Shelby’s late grandmother Margaret Ferris Speakes is a life member of Junior Auxiliary
