Jackie Lee Nordan, 64, of Brandon died on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

There will be a visitation held on Friday, March 22, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Ott and Lee Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon.

Jackie was born on November 17, 1948, in Brookhaven. He was the youngest child of Wince Walker Nordan and Julia Lee Wilkinson Nordan. Jackie graduated high school from Cleveland High School in 1966. He received a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science and a master’s degree in Agricultural Education from Mississippi State University. Jackie served in the U.S. Army on active duty from September 4, 1969, to September 5, 1972. He served our country in the Vietnam War from June 15, 1970, to June 7, 1971. He was honorably discharged as a Specialist 5 Morse Code Interceptor with the Army Security Agency. Jackie spent his career in Agricultural Lending with the Federal Land Bank, the Production Credit Association, and retired with the USDA Farm Service Agency as a Farm Loan Program Specialist with the State Office. Jackie was a member at Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon.

Jackie was preceded by his wife of 43 years, Dr. Rita W. Nordan.

Survivors include sons, Jackie Lee Nordan II of Brandon and John Zackary Nordan of Brandon; daughter-in-law, Leslie Brooks Nordan; grandsons, Matthew Lee Nordan, Charles Wesley Nordan and John Gabriel Nordan; brother, Dr. Edwin Walker Nordan Sr. of Greenville.

Flowers may be sent to Ott and Lee Funeral Home of Brandon.
