John Edward Peacock, 42, of Cleveland died on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, in Jackson.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 6, 2013, from 6-8p.m. at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland.

Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013, in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the North Cleveland Cemetery. Reverend Rocky McCollum will officiate the service.

John was born on July 14, 1971, to James and Shirley (McCollum) Peacock Sr. in Shelby. He was a 1989 Cleveland High School graduate. He had also attended Mississippi Delta Community College and Delta State University. John was a self-employed handyman/carpenter. He was a former Golden Glove Boxer. He enjoyed playing pool, boxing and photography. He was a former ping-pong champion at Mississippi Delta. John’s life revolved around his son Punchy, who was his world. 

He is survived by father, James Thomas (Wilma) Peacock Sr. of Cleveland; mother, Shirley M. Turner of Boyle; son, Tyler Peacock of Jackson; brother, James Thomas (Suzane) Peacock Jr of Cleveland; brother, Kevin Turner of Boyle; sister, Sharon P. (Paul) Youngblood of Tupelo; sister, Shannon "Shea" Belk of Indianola; sister, Elizabeth "Elise"(Joey) Mallette of Cleveland; sister, Lisa Ray of Merigold; sister, Robin (Kenny) Beevers of Southaven; sister, JoAnn (Jackie) Moody of Cleveland; grandmother, Ruth Cates of Gore Springs; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Beck, Shane Kemp, Chris Harris, Jason Harris, Chase Peacock and John Paul Soliz.

Honorary pallbearers are Duff Woodard, Butch Boyette, Scooter Boyette and Pat Stevens.
