She was born on September 4, 1927, to the late Jacob and Stella (Johnson) Mims in Philadelphia. She attended the Drew Public Schools and was employed a number of years at Sunflower Food Store and was a cafeteria employee at the Drew and Bolivar County Public School system. She was a member of the Drew Baptist Church and her hobbies included reading and visiting friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Williams, a grandchild Will Dyche, 1 brother and 1 sister.
Visitation was from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at the Drew Baptist Church in Drew. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Drew Baptist Church with the Rev. W.H. Kirkpatrick officiating.
Burial was in Drew City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Reid, Ben Wooten, Bryant Reid, Jacob Hudson, Johnny Baughman, James Reed, and Chris Hudson.
Honorary Pallbearers were Sammy Gordey, and Dr. Steven Clark.
She is survived by three Daughters, Kay (Jimmy) Reid of Cleveland, Gail Dyche of Cleveland and Vonnie Williams of Cleveland; a brother, John Mims of Cleveland; two grandchildren Mary Kathryn Wooten and Bryant W. Reid and a great-grandchild, Gracie Kathryn Wooten.
