Mississippi Highway Patrol received a call at 4:13 p.m. that there was a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 61 at New Africa Road.
While the first vehicle, a school bus, driven by Freddie Green, 70, of Duncan, was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 61, a Cadillac CTS driven by Kelaiah Tyler, 22, of Clarksdale, was attempting to cross U.S. Highway 61 from New Africa Road.
"She collided the front passenger side of her vehicle with the rear bumper area of the school bus," said Trooper Tony Dunn.
Tyler and her passenger Jasmine Cleark, 22, of Clarksdale were both transported by Pafford EMS to Northwest Mississippi Medical Center in Clarksdale with moderate injuries.
"Green and eight school aged children from North Bolivar School District were not injured.
"All involved were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident," said Dunn.
