One arrested for auto burglaries

The Bolivar County Sheriff Department received several calls Tuesday morning relating to auto burglaries.

According to Chief Deputy Gerald M. Wesley Jr., several guns and other items were taken from these vehicles.

One victim of auto burglary witnessed a red pickup with no tag drive off from his resident.

The truck was located that morning and the victim identified the vehicle. The owner the vehicle was taken into custody. Austin Boudreaux age 19 along with three male juveniles were charged with two counts of auto burglary. The guns and other items were recovered from reported auto burglaries. Boudreaux was taken for an initial appearance and bond was set at $10,000. The juveniles are been held at the Rosedale Detention Center.

The Sheriff Department is asking that homeowners register their weapon(s) at the Bolivar County Sheriff to assist in identifying if stolen.
