The blaring of music from a car stopped Murphy Street Friday night caused a Cleveland officer to stop and investigate.

"The officer stopped the vehicle and got out and began talking to the driver," said Cleveland Police Chief Buster Bingham.

The individual was Wendell Joseph Fitzgerald.

"During the course of the investigation they found approximately 6.7 grams of cocaine in Mr. Fitzgerald's possession.

"He was charge with possession of a controlled substance, obstructing traffic and violation of the city noise ordinance," said Bingham.

Fitzgerald was taken into custody and bond was set Monday at $5,000.

"We are going to be very active — proactive, when it comes to drugs, as we've said before. We don’t want this around our kids in the community, our churches or our neighborhoods. If anyone is going to participate in this type of activity all I can say is that we're going to be watching and we will eventually get you."
