"A lot of the firemen have pink helmets," said Fireman Scott Fuquay of the helmet he will wear in October as part of the Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department’s breast cancer awareness program.

The fire department will be taking donations throughout the month of October and will then turn the money over to an organization for breast cancer awareness.

Fuquay is asking for a community member or organization to sponsor a fireman with a $100 donation and the fireman will wear a pink helmet throughout the month.

However Fuquay said they would take any amount in donations. The fire department has about 35 members.

"Every call we have during the month of October they'll wear these pink helmets," said Fuquay.

Fuquay's pink helmet has his mother's name Jynette Fuquay on the front, and his mother in law Bette Noblin's name is on the side.

The Cleveland firefighters also have purple helmets representing all types cancers.
