At 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Cleveland police were notified that a body was in the road at the intersection of Chrisman Avenue and Hadley Street.

Cleveland Police Chief Buster Bingham said upon arrival on the scene, officers found Louis West Jr., 21, unresponsive.

EMTs were called and when their efforts proved unsuccessful, the coroner was summoned.

Bingham said West was sent to Jackson for autopsy and that foul play has not been ruled out.

He added this is an active investigation.

The Bolivar Commercial will release details as the investigation unfolds.
