Bayou Girls 64, Winona 60

The Bayou Academy Lady Colts fought hard and earned a District 1-AA victory over the Winona Christian School Lady Stars Tuesday evening in Cleveland.

Bayou improved to 11-3 with a 3-0 mark in the district.

Anna Grace Cummins led the Lady Colts with 32 points, followed by Taylor Newton with 12 points, Taylor Ann Bailey with 11 points and Brantley Hutchinson with six points.

Bayou will return to the court on Friday to play North Delta in Batesville.

Yazoo Co. Girls 49, CHS 43

The Cleveland High School Lady Wildcats lost their Region 3-4A opener to the Yazoo County Lady Panthers Tuesday evening at the Margaret Wade Gymnasium.

Cleveland fell to 5-5 with a 0-1 mark in the region.

McKinnon Skeen was Cleveland’s leading scorer with 19 points, followed by Lauren Ashley Collins with 11 points and nine rebounds and Taylor Collins with five points and eight rebounds.

Cleveland will return to the court on Friday when the team hosts East Side with a b-team boys game set to start first at 5 p.m.

Ruleville Girls 69, West Tallahatchie 61

The Ruleville Central Lady Tigers earned another win by defeating the West Tallahatchie Lady Choctaws Tuesday night in Ruleville.

Ruleville improved to 5-3.

Shakira Singleton led the Lady Tigers with 15 points, followed by Robrieka Finn and Tateanna Collins with 12 points each and Miracle Fonzy with 10 points.

Ruleville will travel to Hollandale on Friday to play Simmons.

NSA Girls 57, Strider 13

The North Sunflower Academy Lady Rebels dominated the Strider Academy Lady Rams Tuesday night in District 2-A action in Charleston.

NSA improved to 3-9 with a 1-2 mark in the district. Baylee Billhofer led the Lady Rebels with 13 points and four rebounds, followed by Amery Hocutt with 11 points and four rebounds, Brittany Burchfield with 11 points and Mari Max Wilson with 10 points and 20 rebounds.

NSA will return to the court on Friday to host Greenville Christian in Drew.

NSA Boys 75, Strider 32

The North Sunflower Academy Rebels picked up the easy win against the Strider Academy Rams Tuesday night in District 2-A action in Charleston.

NSA improved to 9-3 with a 3-0 in the district.

Jerry Mitchell led the Rebels with 21 points, followed by Colton Moon with 19 points, 10 assists and 11 steals and Ronny Henley with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

NSA will return to the court on Friday to host Greenville Christian in Drew.

Bayou Boys 50, Winona 45

The Bayou Academy Colts defeated the Winona Christian Stars Tuesday evening in District 1-AA in Cleveland.

Bayou improved to 8-2 with a 3-0 mark in the district.

Peyton Aldridge led the Colts with 17 points, followed by Nat Jones and Chantz Arbuckle with 12 points each and Tyler Kitchings with seven points.

Yazoo Co. Boys 59, CHS 58

The Cleveland High School Wildcats couldn’t quite pull it out against the Yazoo County Panthers as they lost in overtime Tuesday evening in Region 3-4A action at the Margaret Wade Gymnasium.

Cleveland fell to 3-6 with a 0-1 mark in the region.

The Wildcats led the Panthers 31-21 at halftime, but the Panthers battled back and was able to tie it at 57 all to send the game into overtime. Yazoo County outscored Cleveland 2-1 in the overtime period.

Jaylen McDonald led the Wildcats with 13 points, followed by Desmond McAbee and Vaughnte Dorsey with 12 points each. Dorsey also finished up with a team-high nine rebounds.

Cleveland will return to the court on Friday when the team hosts East Side with a b-team boys game set to start first at 5 p.m.

Bayou Jr. Girls 36, Winona 23

The Bayou Academy Junior High Lady Colts picked up a win against the Winona Christian School Junior High Lady Stars Tuesday evening in Cleveland.

Ashlyn Cummins led the Lady Colts with 12 points, followed by Chrissy Tubbs with seven points and Madison Kitchings with five points.

Bayou will return to the court on Friday to play North Delta in Batesville.

NSA Jr. Girls 42, Strider 1

The North Sunflower Academy Junior High Lady Rebels turned in a strong showing against the Strider Academy Junior High Lady Rams Tuesday evening.

NSA improved to 5-7.

Jimmie Whatley led the Lady Rebels with 20 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Brittany Burchfield with 13 points and Arin McIntyre with 10 rebounds and 10 steals.

NSA will return to the court on Friday to host Greenville Christian in Drew.

NSA Jr. Boys 27, Strider 7

The North Sunflower Academy Junior High Rebels picked up their second straight win by defeating the Strider Academy Junior High Rams Tuesday evening in Charleston.

NSA improved to 1-10.

Jacolby Brown led the Rebels with 10 points.

NSA will return to the court on Friday to host Greenville Christian in Drew.

Winona Jr. Boys 50, Bayou 38

The Winona Christian School Junior High Stars defeated the Bayou Academy Junior High Colts

Logan Clark led the Colts with 18 points, followed by Spence Martin with 14 points.

Bayou will return to the court on Friday to play North Delta in Batesville.
