2A North Half Playoffs

Bruce Boys 46, West Bolivar 44

The West Bolivar Eagles couldn’t quite pull it out Tuesday night as they fell to the Bruce High School Trojans Tuesday evening at Rosedale in the first round of the 2A North Half Boys Basketball Playoffs,

West Bolivar held a 39-30 lead going into the fourth quarter, but Bruce battled back and outscored West Bolivar 15-4 in the final quarter.

Ladarius Tucker scored 21 points to lead the Eagles.

West Bolivar ended its year at 17-15.

4A North Half Playoffs

Leake Central Boys 78, Cleveland 43

The Cleveland High School Wildcats struggled in the second half against Leake Central as they lost in the first round of the 4A North Half Boys Basketball Playoffs Tuesday evening in Carthage.

Leake Central outscored Cleveland 44-16 in the second half.

Desmond McAbee led the Wildcats with 12 points and three steals, followed by David Midlick with seven points and five rebounds, Charles Rogers with six points, Ellis Townsend with five points and four rebounds and Quintiyus Causey with five points.

Cleveland ended its year at 4-23.

1A North Half Playoffs

Coffeeville 99, JFK 63

The John F. Kennedy Hornets saw their season come to an end as the fell to Coffeeville Pirates in the first round of the 1A Boys North Half Basketball Playoffs Tuesday night in Coffeeville.

The Hornets saw their season come to an end at 7-19.

Smithville Boys 51, Broad Street 44

The Broad Street Jaguars had a tough second half as they fell to Smithville High School Seminoles in the first round of the 1A Boys North Half Basketball Playoffs in Smithville Tuesday night.

Broad Street led 29-16 at halftime, but Smithville outscored Broad Street 35-15 in the second half.

Michael Williams led the Jaguars with 17 points, followed by B.J. Hall with 13 points.

Broad Street ended it season at 12-14.
