Ronald Williford “Ronny” Barrett, 50, died unexpectedly Monday, May 27, 2013 at his residence in the Union Community south of Plantersville.

Ronny was born on Oct. 12, 1962, in Cleveland to Walter Thomas and Betty Naron Barrett. He grew up in Cleveland and graduated from Bayou Academy, Class of l980. Ronny was a sales representative for Applied Industrial Technology for many years, first in Greenville, being transferred later to Jackson and Tupelo. For the last l0 years, he was employed by Motion Industries, Tupelo Division, as an industrial sales rep. A resident of Lee County since 2000, Ronny was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tupelo and the Kenny Weems Sunday School class.

He enjoyed drag racing, all sports especially the New Orleans Saints, Duck Dynasty, little babies and spending time with his family whom he loved dearly.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013, at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Chad Grayson, Bro. Ricky Young and Bro. Randy Wood officiating.

Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery south of Plantersville.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m.-service time Friday all at the Tupelo chapel of Holland Funeral Directors.

Survivors include his wife: Lisa Posey Barrett of the Union Community to whom he married Feb. 21, 1996; 5 daughters, Brooke Barrett of Pearl, Amanda Armas (Omar) of Tupelo, Brianna Barrett, Jessica Barrett and Emily Barrett, all of the home; a granddaughter, Lila Armas of Tupelo; parents, Tommy and Betty Barrett of Cleveland; two brothers, Tommy Barrett (Sheila) of Grenada and Jimmy Barrett (Cerise) of Cleveland; aunt Peggy Barrett of Cleveland and uncle, Tommy Naron (Memorie) of Cleveland; his mother-in-law, Helen Dorroh Posey of the Union Community; his grandmother-in-law, Lottie Posey of Tupelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father in law, Judge Tulane E. Posey Jr.

Pallbearers will be Brent and Bradley Barrett, Lane Posey III, Lane Posey IV, Gwin Berryhill, Chris Crawford, Timothy Berryhill, Tony Barkley and Matthew Barkley.

Honorary pallbearers will be fellow employees at Motion Industries and his Sunday school class at First Baptist.
