The free event, scheduled for April 11 at the Mound Bayou Community Facility Building, is targeted for businesspersons age 50 and over to provide entrepreneurs with resources to start or grow a small business.
“SBA Mississippi is pleased to partner with AARP Mississippi in this most worthwhile venue,” said Janita R. Stewart, SBA Mississippi district director.
“Mississippi has new entrepreneurs who are seeking to have a second career as a business owner by using the years of experience they’ve earned and connections they’ve made through time to start and grow these new ventures — finally fulfilling their dreams.”
Programs and resources will be available through the SBA and a network of partner organizations.
Find out how to get started on a business plan, hear ideas on seeking start-up capital and meet other interested encore entrepreneurs.
SBA and AARP representatives will open the program by providing a brief overview of their organizations.
The Mississippi Small Business Development Center Network will present on the counseling and training services they provide to pre-venture, start-up and existing businesses statewide.
The mini fair will begin with area mentors providing information about themselves and/or their businesses.
Attendees will have the opportunity to pair up with mentors for advice and assistance.
AARP Mound Bayou Area Chapter President Dr. Elaine Baker should be contacted for further information and registration. Reach her at 662-741-2683 or email@example.com.
The event will take place from 1:30-4:30 p.m.
