According to Bolivar County Sheriff Kelvin Williams the death of Colby McCline, 27, is still under investigation and no suspects have been arrested as of presstime.

On Tuesday at approximately midnight, McCline of 1002 Newsome St. in Cleveland was shot near Sunset Village apartment complex on 900 White St.

Williams said the victim was shot in the chest and when officials arrived, family members had transported him to Bolivar Medical Center.

"Once he arrived at the hospital, we were informed that he had passed away," added Williams.

"We're actively looking for the suspect. We're trying to get leads to help us.

“Someone at that complex knows what happened or has information. We need citizens to assist us, because we're not going to ignore the needs of our citizens. The sheriff's department will do whatever it takes to bring criminals to justice," said Williams.

The sheriff encourages citizens be to actively involved with assisting them to solve crimes.

"We advise them to use Crimestoppers to help us. I advise everyone to consider McCline being one of their family members.

“If you had a family member that you had just heard been involved in an incident such as this, you would want justice," said Williams. "When individuals commit crimes, we're going to lock them up or do whatever we need to do to keep them from doing the same crime over and over again. We're not going to let that happen in Bolivar County.”
