Solid teams highlight 6-man

The annual Cleveland Country Club 6-man golf scramble turned out to be an exciting event as four teams battled for the top spot.

When Sunday’s action came to a close, the team of Dwayne Townsend, Brian Brister, Shane Humphries, Travis Naccarato, Don Fones and Daniel Cross ended up winning the event with a 39-under par 105. The duo edged out three teams by one stroke in the event that consisted of 57 teams equaling 342 total golfers.

The team of Greg Vaughan, Reed Lindsey, Cameron Thomas, Jay Amis, Drew Baker and Griffin Tanner, the team of Michael Whitten, Ken Horton, Grant McDonnell, Trey Pritchard and Lee Rhodus and the team of Justin Kovach, Lee Bond, Ryan Bukvich, Jon Jon Hancock, Channing Upchurch and Nick Jones each shot an impressive 106 to finish in a three-way tie for second in the championship flight.

The team of Neil Quinton, Bill Hood, Rob Hood, Scott Christensen, Jon Soderberg and Eric Brozovich won the first flight with a 112.

The team of Adam Hammond, Ryan England, Fred Herndon, Trey Lunsford, Josh Tidwell and Jack Wright, and the team of Reed Rocconi, Jay Hightower, Mike Langdon, Hunter Myers, Chris Taylor and Craig Taylor finished in a tie for first in the second flight with a 115 each, while the team of Brad Smith, Kevin Cole, Roger Cole, Terry Cole Dave Maness and Brad McCormick won the third flight with a 117.
