Lisa Cooley, Team Cleveland/Main Street director, said, "The Team Cleveland/ Main Street events that have been scheduled this holiday season have been a huge success.
"The events started with the Holiday Open House in November, where we saw huge crowds and a lot of business participation. Pictures with Santa was a hit, around 150 children had their picture taken with Santa. The Carriage Rides which always draw a crowd were hugely popular this year."
On Thursday the movie “The Polar Express” will be playing at the Martin and Sue King Railroad Heritage Museum at 6 p.m. and the cost is free.
For those last minute shoppers and those that have yet to wrap Christmas presents, Team Cleveland volunteers will be wrapping presents on Saturday at the train museum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the cost of wrapping will depend on the size of the package.
The event is a fundraiser for Team Cleveland.
"This year was the first year for the Ugly Christmas Sweater 5K. It was great. There was a big turnout and runners were certainly dressed to impress,” said Cooley.
"This week we will have a movie night on Thursday. ‘Polar Expres’s will be played at the Martin and Sue King Train Museum and on Saturday we will host a gift-wrapping station at the train museum.
"People can drop off their gifts at the Martin and Sue King Train Museum and volunteers with Team Cleveland will wrap them for a fee. We are encouraging people to finish up their holiday shopping downtown as they wait for us to wrap their presents," said Cooley.
" A couple of events saw less than ideal weather conditions but people still came out. We are excited about the participation from the community in the events and look forward to building upon the great traditions that Anne Dilworth and Team Cleveland have built," Cooley added.
Anne Dilworth recently retired from the chamber as the Team Cleveland/Main Street director.
