West Bolivar 57, S.V. Marshall 6

The West Bolivar High School Eagles earned their fifth straight win by hammering the S.V. Marshall Tigers in a Region 4-2A contest Friday night at Tchula.

West Bolivar will hit the road to Hollandale to play Simmons on Thursday for another region game to end the regular season. A win would seal up the region championship outright for the Eagles for a 10th consecutive year.

Tunica 14, Bayou 10

The Bayou Academy Colts came up short as they fell to the Tunica Academy Blue Devils in a District 1-A contest Friday at Colt Field.

Bayou fell to 5-4 with a 3-3 mark in the district, while Tunica improved to 3-6 with a 3-2 record in the district.

Caleb Pilgrim led Bayou’s offense as he completed 3-of-6 passes for 101 yards with a touchdown pass and rushed for 130 yards on 17 carries. Davis Dalton rushed for 75 yards on 12 carries to aid the Colts, followed by Ty Holder with 65 yards on 11 carries, Hunter Kovac with 44 yards on 11 carries to go with two catches for 40 yards and Weber Herbison with three catches for 84 yards with a touchdown. Herbison also kicked a field goal for the Colts.

The game against Tunica was Bayou’s last district game of the year. Bayou will return to action on Friday when the Colts host Hillcrest. The Colts still have a chance for the playoffs as the top four teams from each district go to the playoffs.

Tunica and West Memphis are both tied at 3-2 in the district and both of those teams still have one more district game to go. Desoto will play Tunica, while West Memphis will play Deer Creek on Friday. The season could end with a three-way tie between Tunica, West Memphis and Bayou for third, which would decide who would go to the playoffs by a tiebreaker system. There could also be a situation where Bayou is tied with either Tunica or West Memphis for fourth, which would also go to a tiebreaker.
