West Bolivar Boys 79, JFK 31

The West Bolivar Eagles delivered another dominating performance by defeating the John F. Kennedy Hornets in Region 3-2A action Tuesday evening at Rosedale.

West Bolivar improved to 9-2 with a perfect 4-0 mark in the region. Dequadereck Rick led the Eagles with 13 points, five rebounds and four steals, followed by Ladarius Shavers with eight points and six rebounds and Larry Walker with eight points.

West Bolivar will host Coahoma County on Friday in Rosedale, while JFK will host West Tallahatchie on Friday in Mound Bayou.

JFK Girls 39, West Bolivar 23

The John F. Kennedy Lady Hornets dominated the West Bolivar High School Lady Eagles Tuesday night in Rosedale.

West Bolivar’s record fell to 5-6.

Kalesha Williams scored seven points and dished out three assists with three steals and two blocks to lead the Lady Eagles.

West Bolivar will host Coahoma County on Friday in Rosedale, while JFK will host West Tallahatchie on Friday in Mound Bayou.

Delta Girls 39, Bayou 33

The Bayou Academy Colts came up a little short against the Delta Academy Lady Raiders Monday night in Marks.

Caroline Salley scored nine points to lead the Colts, followed by Carley Peden with eight points and Anna Grace Cummins and Taylor Ann Bailey with six points each.

Bayou will travel to Marvell, Ark. to play Marvell Academy on Friday.

JFK Jr. Boys 34, West Bolivar 24

The John F. Kennedy Junior High Hornets defeated the West Bolivar Junior High Eagles Tuesday evening.

Khalih Strickland scored 11 points to lead the Hornets, followed by Jarian Young and Kentrell Starks with eight points each.

Shaw Boys 53, Cleveland 45

The Shaw High School Hawks earned another win by defeating the Cleveland High School Wildcats Monday at the Margaret Wade Gymnasium.

The Hawks stretched their winning streak to three games and improved to 6-3, while Cleveland fell to 5-6.

Malik Walker scored 13 points, pulled down six rebounds and recorded three steals to lead the Hawks, followed by Ledavious Rice with 11 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals and Jermaquis Stimage with 11 points, five steals and four rebounds, Zedric Bass with eight points, three blocked shots and two steals and Octavius Stimage with five points, five steals, four rebounds and three assists.

Mike Smith led the Wildcats with 12 points, 10 rebounds and two steals, followed by Reggie Foster with nine points and five rebounds, Vaughnte Dorsey with eight points and four rebounds and Jason Young with six points, seven rebounds and two steals.

Shaw is scheduled to travel to Benoit on Wednesday, while Cleveland is set to host Yazoo County on Monday.

Bayou Boys, 66 Delta 63

The Bayou Academy Colts edged out the Delta Academy Raiders Monday night in Marks.

Bayou improved to 8-2. Tyler Kitchings led Bayou with 18 points, followed by Michael Portner with 17 points, Caleb Pilgrim with 15 points and Chantz Arbuckle with 14 points.

Bayou will return to action on Friday when the team hits the road to take on Marvell Academy in Marvell, Ark.

Shaw Boys 52, East Side 43

The Shaw High School Hawks defeated the East Side Trojans Saturday night at the D.M. Smith Gymnasium.

Jermarquis Stimage led the Hawks with 18 points, followed by Malik Walker with 14 points, eight rebounds and two steals, Zedric Bass with eight points, six rebounds and two steals, Octavius Stimmage with five points, eight rebounds and two steals and Ledavious Rice with six points, six rebounds and two steals.

Jon Paul Davis with 13 points and 17 rebounds.

East Side (4-3) will host Gentry in Cleveland on Saturday.

West Bolivar Boys 62, Ray Brooks 15

The West Bolivar Eagles made it five games in a row Saturday with the blowout win over the Ray Brooks Tigers.

The Eagles improved to 8-2.

The Eagles’ defense was on point as they held the Tigers to just two points in the first half as they held a 42-2 lead at halftime.

Willie Jones and Ladarius Tucker led West Bolivar with 11 points each, Terrance Johnson and Deguadereck Rice scored nine points each.

Syderrick Maiten led the Tigers with five points.

West Bolivar will host John F. Kennedy tonight and Ray Brooks will play O'Bannon in Benoit tonight.

Cleveland Girls 81, Shaw 31

McKinnon Skeen had a great night on the court as she scored 35 points to lead the Cleveland High School Lady Wildcats to a victory over the Shaw High School Lady Hawks Monday night at the Margaret Wade Gymnasium.

On the night, Skeen was 7-of-11 from 3-point land and 11-of-22 overall in the field. Skeen also had six rebounds, a blocked shot and a steal.

Cleveland improved to 9-3, while Shaw fell to 2-7.

Chelsea Heffner aided the Lady Wildcats with 15 points and three steals, followed by Brittany Thigpen with nine points, five rebounds, for assists and three steals.

Cleveland will be back in action on Monday to play Yazoo County

East Side Girls 44, Shaw 22

The East Side Trojanettes doubled up on the Shaw High School Lady Hawks Saturday night at the D.M. Smith Gymnasium.

East Side improved to 6-1. LaShyra Cotton scored 15 points, pulled down four rebounds and recorded two steals to lead the Trojanettes, followed by Carvacier Sanders with 12 points, four rebounds , steals and two assists and Errica Blair with seven points, eight rebounds and three steals and Lashawn Palmer with seven rebounds.

East Side will host Gentry in Cleveland on Saturday.

Pontotoc 80 Girls, CHS 44

The Pontotoc Lady Warriors cruised past the Cleveland High School Wildcats at Pontotoc Saturday.

McKinnon Skeen scored 14 points to lead the Lady Wildcats, followed by Lauren Ashley Collins with six points and 12 rebounds and Tonidra Blair with five points and nine rebounds.

West Bolivar Girls 54, Ray Brooks 32

The West Bolivar Lady Eagles improved to 5-5 on the year with the win over the Ray Brooks Lady Tigers Saturday.

The Lady Tigers fell to 6-5 on the year.

The Lady Eagles got off to a good start and held a 29-11 lead at half time.

Kalesha Williams led West Bolivar with 10 points and six steals, followed by Desting Graham and Ashley Cooper with nine points and 10 rebounds each and Shavontae Johnson and Deaundria Smith scored nine points each.

Taraneisha Young led Ray Brooks with 20 points, followed by Markelia Cross with 10 points.

West Bolivar will host JFK tonight and Ray Brooks will play O'Bannon in Benoit tonight.

MGJH Boys 37, McEvans 26

The Margaret Green Junior High Wildcats earned another win against the McEvans School Warriors Monday night.

William Midlick led the Wildcats 14 points, followed by Quintiyus Causey with eight points.

MGJH will return to action on Monday to play John F. Kennedy in Cleveland.

Delta Jr. Boys 54, Bayou 37

The Delta Academy Junior High Raiders defeated the Bayou Academy Colts Monday night in Marks.

Nat Jones led the Colts with 18 points, followed by Josh Willingham and Turner Davis with eight points each.

McEvans Girls 35, MGJH 17

The McEvans School Lady Warriors cruised past the Margaret Green Junior High Lady Wildcats Monday night at the Margaret Wade Gymnasium.

Ella Mae Brown led the Lady Wildcats with six points, followed by Devan Bastari scored five points.

MGJH will return to action on Monday to play John F. Kennedy in Cleveland.

Delta Jr. Girls 40, Bayou 27

The Bayou Academy Junior High Lady Colts suffered a defeat at the hands of the Delta Academy Junior High Lady Raiders Monday night in Marks.

Bayou fell to 9-4. Carley Peden led the Lady Colts with 10 points, followed by Kamryn Otts with six and Ashley Vickers with four points.
