Gov. Phil Bryant has issued a proclamation calling for a statewide moment of silence in remembrance of the victims of last week's massacre at a school in Connecticut.
Bryant's proclamation calls on people around the state to observe a moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Also, it calls on places of worship and government buildings that have the capability to ring bells 26 times — in honor of the 26 people killed in the shootings at the Sandy Hook school.
