A special memorial will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2013, in Chicago.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Hattie Lee Thompson; a sister, Barbara Jean Thompson-Hooper; and uncle, Henry Harringon (Uncle Bud).
She is survived by her husband, Aaron Stewart; two sons, Aaron Anthony Stewart Jr. and Darrius Stewart, both of Chicago, Ill., three sisters, Della Bullock of Belzoni, Louise Brinson of Milwaukee, Wis., and Katherine Thompson of Shaw; and two brothers, Sammy Thompson of Shaw and Kendrick Thompson of Cordova, Tenn.
