Alzadia Johnson, 59, of Rosedale died Sunday, February 10, 2013, at her home.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Changing Your World Ministeries in Rosedale with Pastor Elnora Littleton and Dr. Willie Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Cemetery in Melvin.

Visitation will be at Reuben Z. Riddle Chapel under the direction of Delta Burial Corporation in Mound Bayou from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2013.

She was born on August 30, 1953, in Melvin to the late Willie Johnson and Mahalia Thomas-Johnson.

She attended West Bolivar School in Rosedale and later received her A.A. Early Education degree. She was employed with West Bolivar School District in Rosedale for many years as an assistant teacher before retiring. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include daughters, Patty Smith, Phyllis Haywood and Octavia Harris; three sons, Kenneth Johnson, Melvin Jackson and Lavon Jackson; brothers, Willie Johnson and Pizzaro Johnson; sisters, Carie Sims, Leola Thomas, Gloria Johnson, Ann Johnson, Rozella Black and Colandra Williams; and 11 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Willie Johnson and Mahalia Thomas-Johnson; her son, Richard Johnson, a brother, Levell Johnson; and a sister, Helen Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Robert Sims, Melvin Jackson, Levon Jackson, Kenneth Johnson, Marceo Haywood and Duane Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Adrian Smith, Alphonse Harris, Alexander Noodel and Torrance Harris.
