Billy Nowell, Mayor

Board of Aldermen

Gentlemen:

It wasn’t all that many years ago that we had excellent cable TV. The basic plan included two stations in Memphis, two from Jackson, one from Monroe, LA, and one from Little Rock, Arkansas. All of these stations plus the usual additional were available for approximately $28.00 per month. Now we get none of the above additional stations and are charged approximately $60.00 per month. My daughter who lives in Glendale, Missouri, using cable with over 120 channels pays just $30.00 per month.

The local CableOne people I’ve had contact with are great! It’s the corporate headquarters that makes the decision to give less service and charge more.

I support the Mayor and Board in denying CableOne a new contract unless they restore some of the former stations.

It just may be the time to try for a new cable company.

Sincerely,

Nevin Sledge
