She was born August 10, 1921, in McCool. She graduated from Delta State Teachers College in Cleveland and taught school in Hollandale for several years. After WWII ended, she married her sweetheart, Carroll L. Crawley on August 21, 1945, and moved to Port Arthur, Texas. In 1960, their family of five moved to southwest Houston.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Crawley; her parents, W.I. and Amerdine Tims; her brother, Lowry Tims; and her sisters, Lorraine Accord and Sue Lipe.
She is survived by her daughters, Jane Owen and Lynn Creps; her son, Lee Crawley; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Tillie Inman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Over the years, she was an active member of her neighborhood association, the Methodist Hospital Auxiliary, AARP, several garden clubs, sewing clubs, P.T.O.'s, and her church, where she was a member of the Westbury United Methodist Church Women's Society, the Caring Ministry, Sunday School, the quilting and crafter's groups, Prime Timers, and various other ministries and committees.
Visitation was held at Westbury United Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 20 from 6-8 p.m.
A memorial service was conducted by Rev. Romonica Malone-Wardley on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Westbury United Methodist Church. A reception followed in the church parlor.
