The jury returned a verdict of guilty Wednesday in the case of Derrick Goode of Rosedale in the 2007 murder of Timothy "Tee" Devine of Gunnison.

Goode turned himself into police after the two men were involved in an altercation on March 8, 2007, in which Goode gunned Devine down in front of Club Amnesia in Gunnison.

"He was killed instantly there at the scene," said then Bolivar County Coroner Ted Ray. "According to the victim's family, there was an argument in front of Club Amnesia. Allegedly, he turned his back to the shooter and the shooter shot him. It appeared to be a shot in the leg, the chest and the head."

According to a Bolivar County Sheriff's Department report, Goode possibly fled the scene with three other black males in a purple Caprice with a Massachusetts tag after shooting Devine.

His sentence was not known as of presstime.
