West Bolivar had the right moves as they beat the Hornets by ten runs to improve to 9-2 with a 6-2 mark in the region. JFK fell to 5-7-1 overall with a 4-5 mark in the region.
West Bolivar's Kendall Smith picked up the win on the hill, while Tayshawn Shaw picked up the save. Tozz Bracey suffered the loss on the hill for JFK.
Lamarcus Philips led the Eagles at the plate with two singles and one RBI, followed by Smith with a double and two RBIs, Kylan Johnson with two singles an a RBI and Lamarcus Usry with a single.
JFK was led at the plate by David Huffman and Bracey who both went 2-for-4 on the day.
West Bolivar will be back in action at 4 p.m. Friday in Clarksdale and the Eagles will play a makeup game against Broad Street on Monday at 4 p.m.
