According to Cleveland Police Chief Buster Bingham, all three individuals were removed from the car by volunteer firefighters and the passengers were transported.
“We received the call at about 11:55 p.m. One was airlifted to a hospital outside of Cleveland,” said Bingham.
He said the driver of the vehicle, John Booker, was “apparently going south on Chrisman at a high rate of speed.
“According to a lady at the scene, he struck a truck at the Hurricane Club and then ran into the fence at Mid South Water Works,” he said, adding the car hit some pipes and a boom for drilling.
Bingham said Booker was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital and the event is still under investigation.
According to information received at The Bolivar Commercial, funeral services for Booker, 39, are under the direction of T.L. Redmon Funeral Home in Cleveland.
