Two Cleveland Park Commission employees had an altercation Wednesday at the Willard R. Samuels Gym on Chrisman Avenue.

The event occurred around 2 p.m.

According to Cleveland Chief of Police Buster Bingham, Reginald Williams, 49, and Terrell Hayes had an argument which resulted in an injury.

Witnesses on the scene said the two argued over a cooler of water and Williams slashed Hayes in the face with a knife.

Hayes was treated and released from Bolivar Medical Center late Wednesday afternoon and Williams has been charged with simple assault.

Stephen Glorioso, CPC director, was not available for comment at presstime.

In other Wednesday afternoon, news victims of a car accident were air lifted from the scene, according to Lee Tedder, fire chief of Bolivar County Volunteer Fire Department,

The accident occurred on Old U.S .Highway 61 in Winstonville at about 5:15 p.m.

Tedder said the driver was extricated from the car.

While responding to the accident, a volunteer fireman also had an accident where a car pulled out in front of the fireman resulting in the wreck.
