Sheriffs search for two suspects

The Bolivar County Sheriff’s Department ended up in a late night chase Wednesday after a fight broke out in the Peacock Trailer Park on Miss. Highway 446 in Boyle.

A call came in around 11:40 p.m. after two unknown Hispanic males were allegedly assaulting a victim identified as Mario Torres.

Torres was placed in the suspects’ trunk before the sheriff’s department began their pursuit near Gibert Road in Shaw.

The vehicle chase ended on Sandpit Road on the Sunflower County side when the suspects abandoned their car and escaped by foot.

According to Sunflower County Sheriff James Haywood, the suspects ended back in Bolivar County and his department called off its chase for safety reasons.

Bolivar County will pursue all criminal charges for the ongoing investigation.

Bolivar County Sheriff Kelvin Williams said the search continues this morning.

EMS responded to the scene to care for the victim after the suspects abandoned their vehicle.

The condition of the victim was unknown as of presstime.

Bolivar County EOC and Delta K-9 also responded to the incident.
