Several city teams will begin their quest to prove they’re the top in the state in Dixie Youth All-Star action this weekend.

The Cleveland West and Cleveland East 7-year-old All-Stars will host the Dixie Youth 7-year-old State Coach Pitch Tournament starting Friday at Bear Pen Park. The tournament will last through Tuesday.

Cleveland East will play Kosciusko Friday’s first round at 5:30 p.m., while Cleveland West will play its first round game against Yazoo City at 7 p.m. later that night. The winner of the Cleveland East-Kosciusko game will play the winner of Laurel National-Pascagoula game at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. If Cleveland East loses, the team will play Saturday’s game at 9 a.m. against the loser of the Laurel-National-Pascagoula game.

The winner of the Cleveland West-Yazoo City game, will play the winner of the McComb American-Amory game at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The loser of the Cleveland West-Yazoo City game will play the loser of the McComb American-Amory game at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

The Cleveland West 8-year-old All-Stars will travel to Pascagoula to play in the Dixie Youth AA (8-year-old) State Coach Pitch Tournament beginning Friday. Cleveland West will play Laurel-American at 8 p.m. The winner of the Cleveland West-Laurel American game will play the winner of the Pascagoula Red-Walthall County game at 11 a.m. on Saturday, while the loser of Cleveland West-Laurel American game will play the loser of the Pascagoula Red-Walthall County game at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

The Cleveland West 9 year-old All-Stars will travel to Columbia to play in the Dixie Youth 9-year-old State Tournament beginning Friday and will play McComb at 2 p.m. in first round action. The winner of the Cleveland-McComb game will play the winner of the Carthage-Magee game at 6 p.m. on Saturday, while the loser of the Cleveland-McComb game will play the loser of the Carthage-Magee game on 2 p.m. on Saturday.
