7 year-old state tourney off to a hot start

The sound of the ball popping off the end of the bat was the sound ringing throughout Bear Pen Park Friday and Saturday as the Dixie Youth 7-year-old State Coach Pitch Tournament got under way.

The scene was perfect for baseball.

The brightness of the sun mixed with a brief but pleasant breeze throughout the day made for an exciting time.

Fans yelled for their favorite teams, little children played and ate snow cones, while the smell popcorn permeated through the air.
