Scott Seaton Warfield, 95, of Jackson, formerly of Gunnison, died on Thursday, August 15, 2013, in Jackson.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Visitation was held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013.

Warfield lived a long and wonderful life. He attended Millsaps College and was a baseball player in his youth. He was stationed in North Africa in World War II as a young man then returned to the Delta to continue his family farming business. He was an avid golfer, entertainer, bridge player, and friend. He will be remembered by his family and friends as the perfect southern gentleman.

Warfield was born and raised in Gunnison. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Day Bowden Warfield; brothers, Guy Warfield and Allen Warfield; and stepson, C. E. "Skip" Bowden.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Carol Bowden; grandchildren, Mark Bowden and his wife Rhonda of Brandon and Lisa Bowden Boswell and her husband Jim of Atlanta, Ga.; five great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
