The town of Pace is revving up for its 19th Annual October Festival on Oct. 5.

The day will be initiated with a pleasant 1.5k Walk/Run at 8 a.m., which will begin and end at town hall.

Afterwards, visitors and local residents will enjoy the soulful melodies of Otis Clay & Band, Joe Garcia and Brent L., while feasting on delicious hometown barbecue from the barbecue competition.

The festival will have an array of fun activities for kids such as relay races, booster jumpers and a train that will enable riders to venture around and through the festival.

Adults will also get a chance to take part in some fun activities as well such as the watermelon and barbecue eating contests.

A car show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"This is definitely an event that you don’t want to miss! The festival gives friends and families the opportunity to come together and enjoy each other," said Town Clerk Curtissa Allen.

"This is an occasion for all family, friends and acquaintances to come together once a year for a town-like reunion and fellowship with each other.

"We should cherish every moment, because we do not know what tomorrow will bring," added Allen

T-shirts are currently being sold for this event, and can be purchased from town hall.

For ordering information, please contact Allen at 662-723-6292.

All proceeds from the October Festival will assist in the beautification of the town, equipment for the park, and activities for the citizens and children, along with creating funds for the Summer Youth Enrichment Program.
