West Bolivar 34, West Tallahatchie 9

The West Bolivar Eagles made homecoming a special night by defeating the West Tallahatchie Choctaws Friday evening in Rosedale.

West Bolivar improved to 3-2, while West Tally fell to 2-4.

Leonardo Brown rushed for 135 yards with a touchdown on nine carries to lead the Eagles, followed by Gregory Robb with 44 yards on seven carries, Deguadereck Rice with 60 yards and a touchdown on two carries and Tayshawn Conway with 43 yards and a touchdown. Conway also completed 2-for-3 passes for 63 yards with a pass to Keenan Neal that resulted in a 60-yard touchdown reception.

Ladarius Tucker led West Bolivar’s defense with 13 solo tackles, followed by Larry Walker with 10 solos.

West Bolivar will return to the field on Friday when the team hosts South Delta in its Region 3-2A opener.

Bayou 13, Kirk 10

The Bayou Academy Colts earned their first District 1-AA win over the season by defeating the Kirk Academy Raiders Friday night in Kirk.

Bayou improved to 2-4 with a 1-2 mark in the district, while Kirk fell to 1-5 with an 0-3 mark in the district.

Davis Dalton rushed for 151 yards on 24 carries to lead the Colts’ offense, followed by Weber Herbison with three catches for 100 yards with a touchdown. One of Herbison’s catches was a 91-yard TD reception from quarterback Tyler Kitchings. Kitchings completed 3-of-6 passes for 100 yards with a touchdown to aid the Colts.

On defense for Bayou, Ashton Ouzts recorded seven tackles including one for a loss to lead the Colts, followed by Josh Willingham with six tackles, William Hood and Turner Davis with five tackles each and Chantz Arbuckle with an interception to help seal up the win.

Bayou will return to the football field on Friday when the Colts host Lee (Ark.) for homecoming in Cleveland.

Ruleville 30, Palmer 10

The Ruleville Central Tigers earned the first win of the year by defeating the Palmer High School Dragons Friday night in Ruleville.

Ruleville improved to 1-4, while Palmer fell to 1-3.

Ruleville will return to the football field on Friday when the team hosts O’Bannon for homecoming.

NSA 50, Rebul 6

The North Sunflower Academy Rebels gave the fans what they wanted as they defeated the Rebul Academy Raiders for homecoming in 8-man football action in Drew Friday night.

NSA improved to 2-4, while Rebul fell to 1-5.

Colton Moon rushed for two touchdowns, caught a touchdown pass and returned a punt for a touchdown to lead the Rebels, followed by Ronnie Henley and Jerry Mitchell with a touchdown each.

Derick Livingston led the Rebels’ defense with 15 tackles, followed by Mitchell with two interceptions.

St. Aloysius 39, Broad Street 20

The Broad Street Jaguars couldn't get anything going long enough to mount a comeback against the St. Aloysius Flashes as they lost their first game in Region 2-1A action Friday in Vicksburg.

Broad Street fell to 3-2 with a 2-1 mark in the region, while St. Aloysius improved to 4-2 with a 3-0 mark in the region. The Flashes led the Jaguars 29-0 at halftime.

Jarvis McClenton, who rushed for 42 yards on 10 carries with two touchdowns, led Broad Street on the ground.

Demarcus Alexander rushed for 88 yards on 10 carries with one touchdown, and Danterris Greyer completed 4-of-16 passes for 61 yards with an interception and rushed for 29 yards on 13 carries to aid the Jaguars’ offense.

The defense was led by Zekedrrick Britton with nine tackles and a forced fumble, followed by Alexander and Jalone Mcgee with six tackles each, Ladarious Williams with four tackles and a sack, Devonte Brown and Traterrious Britton with four tackles each and Deontae Caston with a forced fumble and a sack.

Broad Street will be back in action at 7 p.m. Friday when they host Montgomery County in Shelby.
