The Friends of the Bolivar County Library System welcome Mississippi author Ashton Lee as the guest speaker for the Luncheon With Books program at noon Tuesday.

Ashton Lee, pen name of Robert Dalby of “Piggley Wiggley” series fame, is under contract at Kensington Books (New York) for “The Cherry Cola Book Club,” which is the title of both the first book and the new series itself.

“The Cherry Cola Book Club” is about Maura, the director for the Cherico (MS) Public Library for six years, who is facing a three-month deadline to increase circulation and membership at her library — or else.

In response, Maura creates the Cherry Cola Book Club that enlists the townspeople, all 5,000 of them, to help her save the library — in unique and unexpected ways.

A book signing will follow the program.

The public is invited to bring their lunch to the Robinson-Carpenter Memorial Library in Cleveland. As always, admission is free and drinks will be provided.
