Mrs. Scott was born July 7, 1942, to Milton and Ouida Montague in Montgomery County and was educated in the Greenwood area schools. After high school, she married Curtis Ray Scott, with whom she spent 47 years. She enjoyed a career in law, serving as legal secretary for Senator Howard Dyer then working as a clerk for the U. S. District Courts. After retiring, Mrs. Scott volunteered at the Baptist Association Office and served as state director of adult literacy through the Mississippi Baptist State Mission Board. Mrs. Scott served on the board of directors for Arms of Mercy and for the Baptist Student Union on the campus of Mississippi Delta Community College. Mrs. Scott was recently awarded the Angel Among Us distinction for her impact on the Delta area.
Mrs. Scott is survived by two sons and a daughter: son Allen Scott and his wife Lauren of Leland, son Sidney Scott and his wife Teresa of Cleveland, and daughter Tracy, who is married to Steven Craddock, also of Cleveland. Mrs. Scott has one brother, Ivan Montague (Marie) of Jackson and two sisters, Julia Helen Finan (Charles) of Idaho and Madge Floyd (Lewis) of Orange Beach, Alabama. She celebrated the lives of her grandchildren: Jennifer Scott Reed (Spencer), William Sidney Scott Jr. (Leslie), Marshall Ray Scott, Matthew Benjamin Scott, Jamie Scott King, Mallory Heather King, Michael Shane King, Caiden Carter Craddock, Ann Garner Scott, and Doty McLaurin Scott.
