Businesses close for Thanksgiving

As turkeys are placed on tables and sweet potatoes soufflés begin to turn golden brown in ovens, many Bolivar County businesses will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday.

The Bolivar Commercial will be closed with no newspaper on Thanksgiving Day. Normal production will resume on Friday.

The Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Federal, county and city offices of all municipalities will be closed in observance of the holiday.

All school districts will be closed. Delta State University offices will be closed and classes will not meet.

The U.S. Postal Service will be closed.

Beulah Town Hall will close on Wednesday at noon and remain closed Thursday, and Friday.

Boyle Town Hall will close on Wednesday at 10 a.m., and remain closed Thursday, and Friday.

Cleveland City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Drew City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Gunnison Town Hall will close on Wednesday at noon and will remain closed Thursday, and Friday.

Merigold City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Mound Bayou City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Pace Town Hall will be closed on Thursday.

Rosedale City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Ruleville City Hall will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

Shelby City Hall will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

All Bolivar County banks will be closed on Monday. They will reopen for normal business hours Tuesday.

This includes: Bank of Benoit, Bank of Bolivar County, Cleveland State Bank, Jefferson Bank, Guaranty Bank and Trust, Renasant Bank, Planters Bank and Trust, State Bank and Trust, Regions Bank and Southern Bancorp.

Resourceful Environmental Services Inc. will not pick up trash on Thanksgiving Day and operate regular trash removal on Friday.
