This week Planters Bank selected eight charities to move into the final phase of the 2013 “Helping Hands Contest.”

During the month of November, the public nominated charities throughout the Delta at each Planters Bank office.

On Dec. 1, the eight charities were announced and placed on Planters Bank’s Facebook page.

“We are asking everyone to vote for one of the charities on our Facebook page or by email to,” said Randy Randall, COO of Planters Bank. “The top three charities will receive $2,000 each. We have some wonderful charities nominated this year, and we are anxious to award this money to our three winners.”

The eight charities are Delta Cotton Belles, Leflore County Humane Society, Indianola Youth Athletic Association, Delta Grace, Bolivar County Humane Society, Fannie Lou Hamer Cancer Foundation, Humphreys County 4-H Program and Animal Relief and Rescue Fellowship.
