Bayou Boys 62, NSA 54

The Bayou Academy Colts earned a hard fought win over the North Sunflower Academy Rebels Monday night in Drew.

Bayou improved to 7-2, while NSA fell to 8-3.

Tyler Kitchings scored 24 points and pulled down 25 rebounds for his third straight 20-20 game to lead the Colts, followed by Peyton Aldridge with 13 points, Nat Jones with 11 points and 12 rebounds, Chantz Arbuckle with eight points and six assists and Tres Heinsz with six points.

Ronny Henley led the Rebels with 15 points and 15 rebounds for his ninth double-double of the season, followed by Jerry Mitchell with 14 points and Colton Moon with 10 points, six assists and three steals.

NSA will travel to Charleston to play Strider tonight, while Bayou will host Winona in Cleveland tonight.

East Side Boys 57, Shaw 54

The East Side High Trojans (5-1) defeated the Shaw Hawks (1-2) Saturday in hoops action at D.M. Smith Gym on the campus of East Side.

Charles Jackson led the Trojans with 18 points and nine rebounds, followed by John Paul Davis with 13 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks and Perry Henry with 12 points.

Malik Walker led Shaw with 17 points, followed by Zedric Bass with 12 points and Jermarquis Stimage with eight.

East Side will play Cleveland High Friday at CHS, and Shaw will play JFK tonight.

Bayou Girls 61, NSA 21

The Bayou Academy Lady Colts had an easy time with the North Sunflower Academy Lady Rebels Monday night in Drew.

Bayou improved to 10-3, while NSA fell to 2-9.

Anna Grace Cummins led the Lady Colts with 17 points, followed by Caroline Salley with 11 points, Taylor Ann Bailey with six points and Ashley Vickers with five points.

Jimmie Whatley led the Lady Rebels 10 points and five rebounds, followed by Shelby Smith with seven points and six rebounds.

NSA will travel to Charleston to play Strider tonight, while Bayou will host Winona in Cleveland tonight.

East Side Girls 46, Shaw 25

The East Side Trojanettes improved to 3-2 Saturday with a win over the Shaw Lady Hawks in Cleveland.

Carvacier Sanders led the Trojanettes with 13 points, followed by LaKeisha Cotton with eight points, 12 rebounds and four blocks.

East Side will play Cleveland High Friday at CHS and Shaw will play JFK tonight.

NSA Jr. Boys 40, Bayou 28

The North Sunflower Academy Junior High Rebels won their first game of the year by defeating the Bayou Academy Colts Monday in Drew.

NSA improved to 1-10, while Bayou fell to 1-8.

Austin Redwine led the Rebels with 13 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Jacolby Brown with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and Rivers Ray with 11 points and 17 rebounds.

Logan Clark led the Colts with 11 points, followed by Zach Willingham with six points and Christin Fuentes with five points.

MGJH Boys 41, McEvans 38

The Margaret Green Junior High Wildcats defeated the McEvans School Warriors Monday night in Shaw.

Will Midlick led the Wildcats with 12 points, followed by Brent Brown with 10 points and Bryer Weast with seven points.

MGJH will travel to Rosedale to play West Bolivar on Thursday.

Bayou Jr. Girls 49, NSA 41

The Bayou Academy Junior High Lady Colts defeated the North Sunflower Academy Junior High Lady Rebels Monday night in Drew.

Bayou improved to 8-2, while NSA fell to 4-7.

Chrissy Tubbs led the Lady Colts with 15 points, followed by Ashlyn Cummins with 13 points and Kailyn Lofton with six points.

Jimmie Whatley led the Lady Rebels with 13 points and eight rebounds, followed by Shelby Smith with nine points and 12 rebounds and Arin McIntyre with eight points and eight rebounds.

NSA will travel to Strider today for a district game.

MGJH Girls 21, McEvans 11

The Margaret Green Junior High Lady Wildcats defeated the McEvans School Lady Warriors Monday night in Shaw.

Aurelia “Scoobie” Caine led the Lady Wildcats with 13 points, followed by Madeline McLaughlin with seven points.

MGJH will travel to Rosedale to play West Bolivar on Thursday.
