Mrs. Kathryne "Kitty" Cox Dreaden, 87, died in Memphis, Tenn., on Thursday, December 12, 2013.

Mrs. Dreaden was the owner of Rainbow Daycare in Lambert, where she influenced the lives of numerous children. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Daughters of American Revolution.

Kitty was loved by all who met her, young and old, and her laughter and smile will be missed. Her friendship and fellowship set her apart but her role as Nana was treasured the most. In her 87 years, Nana influenced the lives of multiple generations. She was not only Nana to her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, but also to all those blessed to have known her.

Kitty was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Kate Douglass and William Cunningham Cox Sr.; husband, Walter E. Dreaden Jr.; daughter Elizabeth Lynn Dreaden Mize; granddaughter Hannah Caroline Mize; brother William Cunningham Cox Jr.; and sister Elizabeth Cox Elliott.

Kitty is survived by her daughters Lea Dreaden (Paul) Long of Marks and Elise Dreaden (Butch) Jenkins of Ruleville; five grandchildren Suzanne Long (Ryan) Winters of Oxford, Sarah Grace Long (Tony) Domino of Jonesboro, Ark., Dr. Elizabeth Kaitlyn Mize of Jackson, Claire Dalton Mize and Cameron Dreaden Mize, both of Paris, MS; and three great grandchildren Riley and Reese Domino of Jonesboro, Ark., and Ryan Tyler Winters of Oxford; three nieces and one nephew.

Her funeral service was held on Sunday, December 15, 2013, at Marks United Methodist Church in Marks with interment following at the Lambert Cemetery.
