Wayne Hudson, 74, died Thursday, January 2, 2014, at his residence.

He was born April 1, 1934, in Union County to the late Monroe and Eloise Hudson. He attended New Albany High School, Northeast Mississippi Junior College, and Memphis State University. He worked for many years for Waters Truck and Tractor in Columbus. After retiring he moved back to New Albany.  He was a member of the First Methodist Church, and the Hugh Clayton Sunday School Class.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the First Methodist Church of New Albany with the Rev. Barry Male officiating. United Funeral Service in New Albany is assisting the family.

He is survived by his wife Clydell Hudson of New Albany, three sons Eddie Hudson (Missey) of Cleveland, Robin Hudson (Jeanne) of Columbus and Chuck Hudson of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers James Hudson (Merle) of Richland and Johnny Hudson (Anna) of Dallas; five grandchildren Rob Hudson (Shannah) of Columbus, Clint Hudson (Elizabeth) of Nesbit, Parker Hudson of Cleveland, Heather Hudson of Tupelo and Fran Hudson Fowler (Jay) Madison; four great-grandchildren, Ansley Hudson of Southaven, Emmalyn Hudson of Columbus and Katherine and Carter Fowler of Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Darlos Hudson.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Hugh Clayton Sunday School Class Joe Dillard, Wayne West, Jack Hagins and Charles Newell.

Visitation will be held at Wesley Hall Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 1-2 p.m. preceding the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Christmas Toy Store.

In honor of Mr. Hudson, United Funeral Service, Inc. will fly the flag of the United States Army at the funeral home during visitation and service.
