Delta downs NSA in title game

he North Sunflower Academy Rebels couldn’t quite bring home a district championship as they lost to the Delta Academy Raiders 84-72 in the championship game of the District 2-A Boys Basketball Tournament at Strider Academy in Charleston.

NSA fell to 21-7. Ronny Henley led the Rebels with 24 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Colton Moon with 24 points and eight assists.

On Friday, the Rebels defeated the Greenville Christian Saints 51-47 in the semifinals to earn a spot in Saturday’s title game.

Henley scored 19 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the Rebels, followed by Lucas Garrett with nine points and five rebounds and Moon with seven points and nine assists.

The Rebels will be a No. 2 seed heading into the North A Tournament and they will play Tunica Academy at 5:15 p.m. at Marshall Academy
