Children can have a breakfast of donuts and fruit with the Easter Bunny at 9 a.m. at the gazebo downtown where tables will be set up.
There is no need to pre-register for the breakfast; however there will be a $5 fee that covers the entire event.
Children under 2 won't be charged.
Photos with the Easter Bunny will be available and are included in the $5 fee.
Photos will be taken and posted to the Cleveland Main Street Facebook page where parents can then become a fan of the page to get their photo.
Parents are also free to take photos with their own cameras.
Over 3,000 eggs will be hidden and have been stuffed with candy and coupons.
There are several golden eggs hidden that will contain more valuable prizes.
"The event is important for the community for several reasons. Everyone is invited and the price is very low, making it a very inclusive event.
“Also, it’s a great opportunity for downtown businesses to market their products. Members of Team Cleveland have been invited to donate gift certificates and other items to stuff in the eggs in order to promote their business. For example, Delta Dairy is giving away free scoops of ice cream, Airport Grocery is offering a lot of free items with purchase, Ella Rose and Timily’s are offering discounts. Anytime we have a large audience in downtown Cleveland, it’s a great opportunity for retailers to capitalize," said Lisa Cooley, Team Cleveland/Main Street director.
Cooley said the chamber has been able to work with some great volunteers to prepare for the event.
"The Cleveland High School Interact Club will paint faces at the event and Paw Prints will be there with pets that are in need of homes. Also, the Delta State University Women’s Soccer Team will stuff all of the eggs for us. DSU Athletics has been so amazing to help us with our projects. They do an amazing job of community service," said Cooley.
Children up to age 10 can participate and must bring their own basket.
There will be three separate areas roped off for the hunt.
Area 1 will be for ages 3 and under, area 2 for ages 4-6, and area 3 for ages 7-10.
Volunteers are still needed and anyone interested in helping hide the eggs can call the chamber at 843-2712.
