Queen "Cooda" Bovan, 65, of Gunnison died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Bolivar Medical Center.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Morning Star M.B. Church with Rev. Ricky Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the church's cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 -5 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Byas Funeral Home in Shelby.

Queen was born on October 4, 1948.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sandy and Hattie Brown; four sisters, Evie L. Williams, Susie Emerson, Earlene Brooks and Della Bovan; and two brothers, Albert and Sylvester Bovan.

She is survived by son, Kori D. Bovan of Gunnison; daughter, Talesha Brown of Tunica; four sisters, Marcella Bovan and Mae Frances Flowers both of Gunnison, Georgia Lee Bovan of Peoria, Ill. and Mattie Bovan of Chicago; a special nephew, Kelvin Bovan of Rosedale; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
