There will be two workshops both on Saturday inside the Ellis Gallery at the Delta Arts Alliance.
"Our intention with this series is to match an art project or craft to a central theme in the movie the BPAC is presenting. When it was announced one of the Summer Series movies would be ‘Muppets: Most Wanted,’ it was an obvious connection — puppets to Muppets,” said Rori Herbison, DAA executive director.
“What was an even more obvious connection was puppets—Jennifer Perrier. I was on the phone within minutes of receiving the e-mail that Muppets would be shown talking to Jennifer, and within seconds, she was agreeing to do the workshop. It is a perfect pairing.
“Jennifer is very creative and that's evident in her whimsical, fun and always adorable puppets. She has done workshops in area classrooms, festivals across the region and continues to stay in demand. We're appreciative of her willingness to share her talents and creative spirit with the Delta Arts Alliance's programmatic efforts."
The first workshop for ages 5-9 will be from 10-11a.m. and costs $20. Participants will create, design and customize three-four finger puppets of their choosing and creation.
The second workshop will be for ages 10 -14, from 11:30 a.m. until 1p.m. and will cost $25.
Participants in the second class will be creating one larger puppet while adding embellishments and customizing features.
